The Visalia Rotary Community Foundation led the way to build the “Rotary Respite House” (similar to a Ronald McDonald House), partnering with Kaweah Delta Hospital. The facility allows family members to stay while their loved ones are hospitalized with a protracted illness.  The Foundation was instrumental in identifying a suitable property and garnering community support for the project.

In October of 2015, ground was broken on the construction of a duplex type facility that houses two separate families and was completed in the fall of 2016. Bearing the names “Al’s Place” and “Sharon’s Place” they honor the Al Fisher and the Sharon Shannon families for their years of service to our community.  The Kaweah Delta Hospital operates and maintains the facility and schedules the occupants.
